Looking Toward Spring

After weeks of snow and then almost constant rain, I'm going a little stir crazy, and dreaming of springtime color and light.  So I pulled out my camera and got creative with some flowers, and some ice.  I started off inspired by the color and texture of the flowers I found at my local Trader Joe's (nothing much is blooming outside of the stores after record snow and rainfalls this year), including tulips, hydrangeas, and gerbera daisies.  Then I added a twist by freezing some of the flowers in water to get cool effects representing spring pushing through the grip of winter.  I'd never done this before and wasn't sure what to expect, but I kind of love the results.  What do you think?

I've added these to my store here for purchase, with more to come next week, while I continue to look for Spring and plan my next trips to photograph wild horses in May and June (click here if you're interested in grabbing one of the last spots in my tours or workshops!)
